Description
1970s Marisa Martin Chinoiserie Antique Dress, an exclusive piece from the last private collection of acclaimed Australian designer, Helen Sattler. This vintage dress represents original collector pieces and bespoke homemade creations, showcasing traditional sewing techniques that highlight exquisite craftsmanship.
Designer Legacy
This sensational caftan dress, designed by British designer Marisa Martin, embodies the bohemian spirit of the 1970s. In 1969, she opened her first shop in Knightsbridge, London, and quickly gained recognition. By 1976, she was part of the London Designer Collections, producing dresses for boutiques in thirty-six countries, including her own boutique in the Harrods Designer Room. Notable clients included Princess Margaret, the Duchess of Kent, Twiggy, Rod Stewart, and even the Queen herself.
Excellent Condition
While there is slight wear on the silk embroidery at the bodice, the dress remains in very good condition. The vintage Marisa Martin ensemble boasts no rips or holes, and the perfectly functioning hidden zipper is conveniently located under the arm. Although there are a few faint spots on the inner lining, these are not noticeable when worn. This garment is over 30 years old and is truly a treasure!
