Exclusive Vintage Clothing is the last of a private collection of Australian designer, Helen Sattler. Original collector pieces by designers and bespoke home made creations using traditional sewing techniques.
A sensational 1970’s bohemian caftan dress by British designer Marisa Martin.
In 1969 she opened her first shop in Knightsbridge, London. During 1976 she joined the London Designer Collections and added a successful wholesale range to her business. Eventually she was designing and producing dresses for boutiques in thirty-six countries, and had her own boutique in the Harrods Designer Room!
Her clients at the time included such names as Princess Margaret, Duchess of Kent, Twiggy, Rod Stewart and Queen. This unique Chinoiserie Antique Appliqué Dress is in a rose pink jersey with inset plaque on bodice of antique chines embroidery on front and back.
Banded at waist with complimentary Chinese embroidery. Fan sleeves with gold satin cuffs and glass buttons, fitted waist and A line skirt. Slight wear on silk embroidery at bodice. Very good condition. This is that chic garment that every fashionista looks for. A perfect vintage look for any modern event.
This vintage Marisa Martin designer dress ensemble is in excellent condition with no rips or holes. Perfectly working hidden zipper which is under the arm. Only sign of age is a few faint spots to the inner lining which are not noticeable when worn. This garment is over 30 years old and is truly beautiful! 100% Viscose.
